It can feel challenging to balance what is required of us (our work/ family obligations) with activities that nurture us, that support us physically, mentally and spiritually.
For me, I've always found deep inner peace from spending time in nature, connecting with the natural world in some way. When I was growing up, I spent a lot of time exploring the wooded areas around my home. Now, I still find that walking in the woods is a quick way to immediately feel relaxed and refreshed.
I've also been finding joy and contentment through taking daily walks in my quiet neighborhood. I treat my walks as a 'meditation in action' - including listening deeply to all I hear, observing what's around me including what changes I see from day to day, smelling the various scents floating in the air (now including smells of fall, which I love!), and feeling the touch of a breeze on my skin.
